Biddestone A v Winsley A Indoor Div 1

Sunday the 18th December saw us take on last years indoor champions Winsley A, batting first were made to work hard for our runs and for the first time in 4 games H and Jamie both failed to get to 25, Bakes batted well at No 3 and Tom E nudged and ran hard, with Liam failing and Marshy not able to get hit and run we struggled to 75 off the ten, as Liam said at least we had something to bowl at. Marsh opened and kept it tight as usual, with Jamie, Bakes and Liam bowling excellent line and length and mixing the pace Winsley were made to work really hard for the runs a catch by Jamie off Bakes was interesting, outdoors it would have hit the sightscreen on the full but indoors it hit the basketball backboard and dropped into Jamie’s hands stood by the stumps… some tidier fielding and more thought on throwing at the stumps may have saved us 5-10 runs which may have made it even tighter, however Winsley got over the line with a couple of balls to spare, with Two games to go before the play offs we are in the top half of the league, Played 5, Won 3, Lost 2, 6 Points.

Biddestone A Indoor v Bradford Town

Sunday the 4th December saw the latest game for the Indoor A team, with several key players unavailable a new look team took to the field v Bradford, Phil Boore and Alex Tanner drafted from the B team and Aled Evans back in the fold meant we had a young team for our 4.20pm start…

We batted first and as usual Hywel and Jamie opened and both retired… the middle order stuttered a bit but we got a respectable 95-4. Jamie 30+, Hywel 27no...

With Phil Boore having to keep in case we needed H to bowl Aled opened the bowling with Jamie and we made runs hard to come by, Aled took the first wicket and the introduction of Liam got another, both caught by Alex, a run out and some big hitting always made it look like it would go all the way and it did, another catch for Alex, and Bradford needed 8 off the last ball, which Alex bowled having kept his nerve bowling a dot ball…

Well done to Alex on debut 3 catches and a direct hit run out, Aled 1 wicket and Liam 2 well bowled and fielded lads. Champions Winsley A next in two weeks, hope to have full squad for selection…
